Our vision is to create a platform where established artists, emerging musicians, DJs, creatives, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and everyday Austinites have a place to be heard, seen, celebrated, and connected. We seek to preserve the rich musical and cultural traditions that helped shape Austin while creating space for the next generation of voices to define what Austin’s soul becomes.
ATX Soul Radio serves as a bridge between generations, neighborhoods, cultures, and creative communities. Through radio, podcasts, video, live events, interviews, original programming, and community partnerships, we will tell the stories that traditional media may overlook and shine a light on the people who are building, creating, performing, and contributing to the cultural fabric of our city.

Big CED
Big CED is a veteran and influential MC from the heart of Austin, Texas, best known as a founding and central member of the iconic independent hip-hop group Flo Mob. For over two decades, Big CED and Flo Mob have been a cornerstone of the Texas rap scene, recognized for their raw, authentic sound and enduring commitment to the independent grind.
Flo Mob was officially formed in 1993 by brothers Cedrick "Big CED" Mason and Carnell "Cornbread" Mason, alongside fellow emcee Mr. Critical. The group quickly made a name for themselves in Austin's burgeoning hip-hop landscape, laying the groundwork for their distinctive style.
Big CED, often taking the lead on many of Flo Mob's projects, embodies the essence of independent hip-hop. His dedication to his art, consistent output, and ability to resonate with listeners through honest and impactful rhymes have cemented his legacy as a true pioneer in the Texas rap scene.
